Effective Solutions To Stretch Marks Forming on The Skin

by Jen Hopkins

One consequence of aging is the loss of elasticity of the skin. This leads to the formation of stretch marks that result from over stretching of the skin. These dark-colored lines, usually red, purple or brown, indicate damage of the elastin fibers. Damaged elastin prevents skin to revert back, and causing the appearance of these lines.

Stretch marks must be treated immediately. Leaving these on the skin will only cause it to get worse. Damaged elastin really takes time before it heals but this does not mean that there is nothing you can do about it. There are a lot of ways to reduce the stretch marks on the skin so people have to be optimistic when it comes to treating stretch marks.

Stretch marks are primarily treated with cocoa butter. The application of this cream has been recognized as one of the most helpful ways to remove stretch marks on the skin. The secret to the healing power of cocoa butter is that it can deeply penetrate the skin. It can effectively work to repair the damage beneath the skin layer. Elastin and collagen repair will hasten to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks on the skin.

Stretch mark creams are available in the market. There are other creams that can be applied on the skin to remove stretch marks. Chemicals such as glycolic acid, retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) and tretinoin are effective in reducing the stretch marks. Whether used alone or in combination with each other can easily promote the easy repair of the skin. Skin cell regeneration becomes faster when these are used.

Microdermabrasion is a treatment done to remove fine lines and dead skin cells. This is also done to reduce the stretch marks on the skin. Microdermabrasion basically polishes the skin, making it smoother and flawless. As the crystals are blown on the skin, these remove the top layer, promoting repair of the skin. This stimulates the new skin cells to grow on the treated area. As the new skin grows, the stretch marks will be reduced and what is seen is smoother skin.

Laser treatment is an effective but an expensive way to treat stretch marks. Paying for this treatment is worth it as long as you can afford it. Laser uses a beam of light to remove the primary layer of the skin with the stretch mark. After a few sessions, the regeneration of new skin will eventually get rid of the stretch marks that can be seen on the skin. It will be noticeable that the stretch marks lighten in color until it begins to disappear.

To effectively treat stretch marks, one must start immediately. Initially, stretch marks are red or purple indicating that they can still be treated. The danger comes when the stretch marks already becomes white because it will be harder to treat. Getting rid of stretch marks is not really a hard thing to do. Just know when and how to treat these things and get perfectly flawless skin.
