Taking care of your nails is not a hard task to do. People often think that this is very tedious which is why they never take the effort to really clean their nails. The most important step in taking care of nails is trimming. This is something that you should remember to do on a weekly basis. Nails constantly grow at a rate of 3mm in 3-4 weeks so you have to make sure that you maintain it at its desirable length. Trimming of nails should be done such that it will not interfere with your everyday tasks. Olive oil is an essential to keep nails healthy. Dipping your nails for at least 30 minutes can help moisturize them. This prevents your nails to be easily damaged, cracked and chipping. Lotion is highly recommended to be used after washing the hands. This also moisturizes the nails since soap can dry them up.

Applying nail polish helps is protecting nails. It does not only make your nails look beautiful. Since it acts as a protective covering for the nails, you should make sure that you apply at least a base coat for nails. Choose products which are both safe for your and the environment when you buy your nails polish.

To put on nail polish as a pro, always use a base coat to prevent chipping of nails and let the polish last longer. Applying nail polish should be done in two coats, and the whole nails should be covered in just three strokes. Always allow nail polish to dry before putting on the next layer. Once the nail polish has dried, put a topcoat to help seal the polish and make it look fresher longer. As much as possible, use nail polish remover that contains hydrating oils to prevent nails from drying.
